Depth is a standard pass in the Multipass rendering. It’s dependenat from the cameras near and far distances, so you need to enable that first for the depth to show up.

From my view there isn’t really much magic to it. You mostly only need to take care to get some decent shading which isn’t that difficult to build (as per the styles on my homepage or in my Aqua tutorial here at the COW). The only real problem I see is to find a suitable font that either is rounded enough or that at least survives extreme treatments with Simple Chocker and erodilation (to round off all it’s sharp corners). To get that wobbly, soft feeling, one probably would simply use Turbulent Displace with very subtle values.

[my problems] ”
Can anybody tell me how to make AE7 use the 3 gig of ram on the PC i that i am working on ?
It is only using 2 gigs.”Add the /3GB switch to your boot.ini. For more info search this forum.
[my problems] “Also can anybody tell me of a way to save my workspace configurations onto a network which would allow me to use the same configurations on all the networked machines.”
Look for “Documents and Settings/[user]/Application Data/Adobe/After Effects/7.0/workspaces.xml”

Check my homepage. There are several “text styles” to download. A platic reflection is among them as well as some glassy aqua-style setup. The techniques can also be applied to normal layers as long as the Alpha channel is intact to define the contours.

If you have Advanced Render or finalRender, you can use subpixel displacement perhaps. You might also consider morphing between spline shapes to minimize the number of steps you have. The simplest way would be re-doing some of your rot-work using PLA on the tracing splines.

I think I understood you just fine. Nobody stops you from flattening/ rasterizing a PS layer and importing it. In addition to that, you can re-create almost all styles using effects and a little imagination. Check my homepage for some examples. The repeating of the light blips is done using Particular on a layer grid emitter which by itself is based on a animated texture in a pre-comp – very obviously. Download the demoe or Particular and study the help and presets to get an idea how to use custom particles in that manner.

No, it should not happen, at least only very rarely after a crash at best.

Sonic eDVD will do that. You need to buy it extra, of course.
