You would need a JSX script, not an expression. Expressions cannot change a layer’s name. Look at some of the demo scripts (Shapetime Insanity, SortbyInpoint, DuplicatewithChildren) to find some code snippets in there. This should allow you to hack together a script you can work with. You could also try AEnhancers, perhaps you will find something usabel there.

Ahem, I suggest buying lustre* in the 4K version. I think it costs just 2 million bucks. Or how about a Quantel eQ with advanced color option for a similar price? Or an inferno*, Avid DS, Da Vinci or other highend system? Sorry, couldn’t help the sarcasm, but you have to be more specific about your requirements. Neither of the systems I mentioned does anything more than you can achieve with AE but all of them with much more streamlined workflow and mostly in realtime of course.

Just like steve said. All other adjustments are done on the projector and if it’s played back from DVD, you have no choice in the matter anyway.

No need to worry about specifics. Just use your standard composition and render settings and flip them by 90(flip it back again by nesting it in a standard comp for rendering). All you would need to know is if the screen is HD or only standard video and if it supports progressive playback (this might save you some headaches when integrating real-world footage). The flipping should be the least of your worries. Most Plasma/ LCD screens I know from doing trade show stuff have lots of options including flipping and rotating the video themselves. Still, it’s always good to ask the guy with the screen…

You could try using The Smoother. Also look for several expressions/ scripts here on this forum refering to averaging tracking data or smoothing it. Other than that, I strongly suggest to upgrade to 6.5. The Tracker is much better there (even though far from perfect).
