If your stuff does not contain any external footage, you can simply change the comp framerates without risk. If you use footage, you may need to re-interpret it to get rid of field or pulldown. most sensibly this can be done in a separate step and then replacing the footage in the relevant comps.

No. You have to have an external photomosaic software like Andrea Mosaic and then import the results from there. You can then animte everything using Card Dance or whtever effect you deem suitable.

No, I don’t think so. Strangely enough this only works if you use “Safe frame as” and since scripts always invoke the render queue in its default state, it possibly cannot be changed. Not sure, though.

Have whoever created it flatten it and organize in sensible layers. Sounds like every object is separate and thus takes forever. If all else fails, simply export it as a PSD or whatever.

Sounds like your original file was damaged somehow, otherwise Encore wouldn’t resort to using the cached one. Try to relink/ replace the file in question.

Not 100% sure, but I believe you can download a generic CoDec from Panasonic intended for previewing stuff from their P2 range.

Sounds like pulldown. Check your footage interpretation and remove it.

Have you actually rendered your stuff and previewed it in your edit suite? Preview over firewire is never 100% correct, least of all when it comes to the colors. Make sure you are taking care of broadcast safe levels. While working, this can be done easiest by having an adjustment layer on top of your comp. Check Aharon’s tutorial for the specifics.

[espinoza] “anyone seen this shit, where the image in the renderer is all orange/yellow
but the rendered file looks normal? maybe a bug”

Not necessarily. Check if all color components are enabled in your image viewer.

[espinoza] “also, is there an article somewhere on proper c4d file management. i have some stock textures in my c4d ilbrary, is it necessary to ‘save project’ to get the tex folder. i dont always do that and get a lot more texture errors than i would like.”

If you share textures across projects, it would be best to assign a permanent texture path in the prefs. Beyond creating the “tex” sub-folder, C4D does not use any structured project management.
