February 20, 2007 at 7:09 am in reply to: internal software error while trying to build a DL DVD can anyone help?Mmh, that’s indeed a edebug message only intended for the original programmers. My guess is that it’s having difficulty to split your stuff ins sensible VOBs and allocate a layer break.

Are you sure you are working with broadcast safe colors and have your workspace color profiles set accordingly? AE7 works slightly different in this respect. Other than that there hasn’t changed anything.

If your textures were in sub-folders, those would still have to have the same name on the other machine and be in the same place relative to the parent folder which you choose in the prefs.

Why are they making things so difficult? When they are doing the mix anyways, they should have no problem providing an AC3 file. I’m no expert, either, but pretty much every multi-channel capable program I know, has either built-in support or a plugin that can be bought.

You can simply set their scale and position in the coordinate manager to zero them out. Otherwise you might want to take a look at the structure manager to gain info about each point’s values.

[espinoza] “can i point it to a general folder that has sub folders in it?”
Now that you ask… I’ve never really checked whether C4D uses recursive folder structures or not. I’m assuming it doesn’t, otherwise there would be no need to explicitly assign them.
I dunno how you manage your AE stuff, but the same principles of “good housekeeping” apply to 3D, meaning:
– always save in versions and increment if you’ve achieved a milestone (file_00.c4d, file_01.c4d etc.)
– name it sensibly
– label sub-versions accordingly e.g. car_00_setup.c4d, car_00_render_beauty.c4d, car_00_render_mattes.c4dThe same principles should be employed inside C4D. If you have R10, make good use of the layer system, it’s a great way of organizing things.

[GnA Productions] “Is this even possible?”
Not from within AE. Render out e.g. a Quicktime file with Photo JPEG compression, then convert to other formats using Quicktime PRo or other tools. Employ a similar workflow for DivX and so on.

In that case create the outlines using a duplicate of the masked and pre-comped layer. Dilate it using minimax or Simple choker, then apply Fill.

Why not simply use open mask paths? Right-click on the mask and selct the corresponding option.

Do the following:
a) Launch your AE in German at least once. To do so, use “Programme\Adobe\Adobe After Effects 7.0\Support Files\AfterFX.exe” -L DE as your shortcut or simply don’t use the customized English shortcut.
b) This will create an “After Effects 7.0 Tastaturbefehle.txt” file in Dokumente und Einstellungen/Cletus/Anwendungsdaten/Adobe/After Effects/7.0
c) Rename the file to “After Effects 7.0 Shortcuts.txt”
You’ll now be able to work with AE properly and use German shortcuts (
