Mmh, okay, than perhaps it’s something more serious. Have you tried changing your graphics card settings?

[bdstric] “When I view the Alpha Channel, the black is appearing somewhat opaque. I do not understand why this is happening. Any solutions?”
What’s to understand? You didn’t change any values on the Alpha channel, so it naturally is fully opaque. Most belnd modes only work on the color channels. If you need Alpha, the nunmultiply using XMult, Knoll Unmult or Walker Alpha tool.

Octaves do not refer to the number of waveforms, but to the number of overlapping waveform groups (at least 3 per group), so it never would work. To get a simple sine wave, use the according function:
Math.sin(time)*multiplier

Your settings sound okay (theoretically). Since I’m not a Mac guy I can’t provide any details, but your softness problem sounds like fields getting interpolated somewhere. The stretching seems weird, but many edit suites use some cropping and scaling on import (because they assume black margins like when capturing from certain types of decks without sync). I’m certain if that is the case, it could be turned off somewhere. Perhaps someone more qualified can either correct me on this or confirm.

What do you mean by zoom? Scaling the image? Really zooming with a 3D camera? anyway, your resolution is insufficient when you zoom in. you probably need to work with much larger resolutions.

Assign the images as background images to your viewports. Since you are in R10, you could also apply them to dedicated polygons using materials, then put them on a separate layer. Lock the layer. The references will show up correctly, but not be editable so you can’t accidently select them.

February 21, 2007 at 6:55 am in reply to: internal software error while trying to build a DL DVD can anyone help?Yes, you could place the layer break manually. I never have done that in Encore, but according to the help file it should be as easy as picking a suitable point in a timeline. In other programs it needs to be calculated based on multiples of the block size (2048) and then correlated to the size of the streams/ VOBs manually, which is a major pain.

Actually that’s the fault of Acrobat (or other Adobe apps for that matter) the interface libraries are written in such a manner that they cause this artifacting. Happens also with Photoshop, After Effects, Encore, premiere and pretty much all the rest.

By default all materials in C4D are applied as doublesided, so no need to worry. Still, sounds like a rather sloppy workflow to not take care of proper normal orientation. Might cause any number of problems from rendering artifacts to incorrect distortions if you deform your objects. I’d at least try to use the Align Normals functions in both programs to minimize that risk.
