Like Adam said – the number of clones always is calculated based on the overall surface area. For your alignment problem I’d simply turn off the “Fix Clone” option as well as the “Align” feature and rotate the trees into position. The target effector option of course also works, but it’s less practical.

Mmh, does it occur with every typeface/ font? I suspect that these are simply rasterization issues with the font.

Mmh, that’s indeed extremely odd. If it’s so arbitrary. Even in a “wrong” setup, it should at least be replicable every time. Well, let us know if you have a solution.

No. Custom channels for floating point formats are not supported.

Most likely they are tracking and compression errors due to poor quality of the tapes you are possibly using. Could also simply be a mechanical problem in the camera – even minute discrepancies in the tape transport would cause errors.

Use a Dingbat font and text layers. Use the left margin/ right margin options and add other animators if you need.

Math.() is a class in Java. A class by itself is simply a specially defined sub-set of the language that are used a lot can be replaced or expanded with your own classes. In case of math that makes sense – nobody wants to calculate pi and radians manually. Modifying the math class could also be used to control how precise computations are for instance. However, with AE that’s a very theoretical scenario, as it is no full JavaScript/ ECMA script environment with all the bells and whistles. ;o)

  • It doesn’t require any special preparations. It does not affect the playback of the disc (except for the small “hiccup” when switching layers), only the order and size of the VOBs and IFOs the authoring program creates to distribute the stuff across layers. In your case you probably simply would put it at the beginning or the end of a timeline. No need to create an extra timeline just for that.

Sounds okay, but you still may wanna try to do a quick test render and try all possible combinations. Simpl animate a sphere moving fast across the screen and render it out with different field settings, then mangle it thru AE, also trying every possible combo. Only one of the clips is going to look alright on your monitor and that will give you the right combo for your particular needs.

No. Things don’t work that way. C4D has no concept of dpi. The common approach is simply to create a dummy cube that encompasses your model and resize all bg images/ textures so that they fit the dimensions of the individual faces. If you do everything correctly, you get correct results.
