You could render out your comp as “Photoshop layers” and then “Import as menu” in Encore. Just name your layers according to Encore’s conventions (or use the menu functions in aE for that). All you’d probably need to do then is add your motion background.

To some degree it may be possible (you would get the posterization and outline edges via the post process effect), but you won’t see any advanced shading e.g. cross hatching or extended edges. It really depends on what you are trying to do. You might have better luck creating those effects by massaging your image in Photoshop and then compositing it with your newly rendered imagery.

No. 2D layers break the render order of 3D layers. Your 3D layers should still show thru transparent areas, though.

[Dave LaRonde] “Make 2 duplicates of the layer in question, making a total of 3 layers. Separate into RG&B layers with shift channel. Apply the add blend mode to the top 2 layers. Apply radial blur to each layer, and adjust to taste.”

Yepp, exactly. sorry if this didn’t become clear in my initial post. You can also use the Channel Blur effect without separating the image first but I find it gives less desiarable results and is difficult to control.

No, it goes agianst the dynamic nature of those systems (even a particle that’s temporarily out of frame could re-enter it at some point.

Separate your image into it’s components using Shift Channels, use Radial Blur on each and blend them back together using the Add mode.

Your only option is to “bake” your bullet into your background graphic and use auto-action to switch between different menus, each containing such a graphic to represent the state. Subpictures cannot contain more than 4 colors out of a palette of 16 colors and 16 transparency levels.

You should isolate the influence of each bone by painting a weight map.

May 25, 2006 at 2:19 pm in reply to: HDTV preset: shouldn’t it be at 25fps?

No, the preset is meant to represent 24p (as in progressive), which is a “neutral” setting. You have to set your fps manually. You could also create a simple script that does it, since obviously this is needed quite often.
