  • Can Sketch and Toon work on imported pictures?

    Hi all,

I’ve used Sketch and Toon a bit on a past project while freelancing at a company, but can’t remember enough to answer this question:

Can Sketch and Toon affect an imported picture? Example: I’ve created a 3D model and applied Sketch and Toon shaders to it. Can I import a picture of a scenic background and give it a similar shader so the both have a similar look?

Thanks for the help. Need to figure this out.

    Take care,
    LB

To some degree it may be possible (you would get the posterization and outline edges via the post process effect), but you won’t see any advanced shading e.g. cross hatching or extended edges. It really depends on what you are trying to do. You might have better luck creating those effects by massaging your image in Photoshop and then compositing it with your newly rendered imagery.

Thanks – I’ll see what effect that gets me.
