    Hi

    Thanks for yours input.

@Todd – I also like your HMI idea, and would like to se a picture of the setup.
My plan whit the softlight are to have 2 softboxes, a large and a small, to be able to control how hard or soft the light are. It’s not very often HMI are used whit out any kind of diffusion. My hope is that is’t faster to work whit it because you don’t have seperate bounce cards or diffusion. And it has a output higher than a 2500 W HMI whit softbox.

@ Rick – Here are some more info:
    https://dedoweigertfilm.de/assets/pdf/PanAura7_Low.pdf
    The 1150 W HMI version uses 2 x 575 W ballast whit 2 lampes so it works from 300 W to 1150 W.
I will get back when I have some price info. The new HMI series from Dedolight are shipping in next month in Europe.

A bonus info: Dedo also makes HMI lamps to all the instruments that works whit 3200 K, whit same output as the 5600 K version.

I just did a shot like that whit a Dedolight 575 W HMI as keylight, a Kinoflo barfly 400 as fill and Barfly 200 as backlight. I was shooting whit a sonny see as background. The windows was a toned down a bit ( as many office buildings) and it balanced out just fine. Is was a very bright sonny day. But it is important to get the Kinoflos close to subject.

You can make a copy of the clip in V2 and make a croma or lume key. When you have seperated the colour then step in and apply a colourcorrect on the clip.

Automatic Duck ( https://www.automaticduck.com/) are a very good tool to help you whit converting FCP to AVID or the other way. The EDL way is no fun.

I have the same problem. I can’t capture a clip over 20-30 min. It do not matter if i am loading in DV, DV50 og uncompressed 10 bit. It stops every time. I am also using a “HUGE” drive, and when test the speed – it’s 200 M/s. I have tryed to put a decklink card from an other system in my G5, and then I don’t get any drop outs – even when i capture 90 min. i uncompressed 10 bit.
