Thank you very much. I think that might well be the case, such a long time trying to find the problem and that’s what it was lol.

    Thanks mate, appreciated.

Just to go into a bit more detail, the words I’m going to be animating are This July. One text layer which is “THIS JULY”, that’s when the event is, I want the entire text layer to fly in, but as it flies in, I only one the letters T and J to rotate, the direction doesn’t matter much, but I just want T and J to rotate. What would you suggest?

    John Rafrano,

I tseems many of us have a common problem, it’s regarding which codecs to use and when to use a pack and when not to.

Although this is a forum without sticky topics, perhaps you could make a sticky topic at the top of the this forum with FAQs and links.

Some of the common threads seem to be about rendering, crashes and codecs.

  • The .mov files are trailers and tv spots for movies. The .avi files usually movie featurettes. The problem is that usually one version of SV detects one and other versions detects the other.

I have installed a codec pack, do you suggest I install the pack and just download the individual codec? Or find a different version of the codecs?

Well I had the exact same problem you did a few weeks ago. I of course did what you did, but what I found was that changing the transfer mode to lighten, darken or subtract something like that seemed to solve the problem. The blur weren’t so good because it just spoiled the visuals.

Question regarding plugins. Don’t want to get into trouble for starting a new thread, but if you have plugins for AE 7 is it possible to just stick them in the AE CS3 folder?

I have a few plugins with AE7, it would save alot of time and hassle if I could just cut them and paste them.

    Thanks.

From what I’ve just seen myself, by default it doesn’t.

I made a comp of length 10 seconds, adding layers to that length, but I only need 2 seconds, later I adjusted the comp settings to 2 seconds. So all the layers were still at 10 seconds, with all their effects to that length as well.

    Ony 2 seconds were rendered.
