I was just trying to figure out why I was rendering red frames last night. Thanks for keeping the updates coming!

Thanks. I did try that- I stretched it out to 30 seconds. Does Audition only export audio above a certain threshold? If I’m fading the sound down, it seems to cut off before the actual end of the audio clip. I’ve added fades to the end of all my audio tracks, but the actual end of each clip is exactly at 30 seconds.

  • Do you have the XDCAM codec installed on your windows machine? You usually import into FCP using Log and Transfer, which rewraps the .mxf file as a Quicktime file. You still need the XDCAM codec.

You can download it for free from Sony here:

Thanks for the help. I opened Premiere today, and it’s working fine! I rebooted and tried everything the other day with no luck. I don’t know what changed. Thanks anyway.

Thank you- that explains a lot. I’ll talk to my producer.

Well, I just re-imported the footage, and I never saw Premiere Pro conform the files. Does it always do that?

I don’t know if I did. I’m used to jumping right in aka FCP. Also, I’ve been looking at the Audio Sample Rate. The clips came in at 44100hz. The sample rate is correct when I check my sequences settings, but can I trust that Premiere Pro adjusted it correctly? I’ll try to reimport the clips and make sure it has time to conform.

I received the files from a post house, so they don’t have a variable frame rate like an iPhone. They edited the show and sent us the .mov’s. I started by dragging segment 1 to the new item icon to create the sequence and then I added the remaining 3 segments. I am exporting through a Matrox MXO LE, but the files appear out of sync even on my computer monitor not just on my broadcast monitors.

Yes, we have a Terrablock server connected by fiber to the edit bays.

Stephen, I had the same problem in Premiere Pro CC when it first came out, but an update in July fixed the problem. It appears they haven’t yet fixed it in After Effects. I had one big project where it became very inconvenient using the work-around. The project became a bit of a Frankenstein that even I have a hard time keeping track. I hope they fix this soon!
