the reason i asked is because Avid Xpress pro will not work off of an external drive. it has to be internal because of speed limitations or something.

never found taht to be a problem in Final Cut, but wanted to make sure.

i found an analog to digital converter for like 50 bucks online. won’t that work? it takes firewire in and puts out composite and/or s video.

it’s just for previewing animations that i make to see if they have any interlacing problems or flickering on playback.

i have a preview monitor sitting in my closet collecting dust until i can hook it to my computer.

i dont have a camera.

and the mxo matrox is too expensive. it said $995. i can get a video capture card for around that price.

i was thinking something cheap like a analog to digital converter box. or something????

too expensive for me, but is exactly what i was talking about. i could get a video card for that much.

2 video tracks, with 1:1 resolution. I have to render a simple dissolve at the beginning of my video.
down the timeline i have many pan and scans and color corrections on clips.

i am doing that and when i do, the bevel goes away. i am using a pillow emboss bevel and when i merge down it goes away and looks like a 1 pixel inner bevel.

i did that trick with a bevel applied to a shape of mine, and when i did it, it lost the bevel and was just a gray shape.

maybe it has somethign to do with using the global light? doesnt make sense to me why the bevel is leaving.
