A quick Google and it looks like a driver issue with Black Magic card.

Importing assets into Premiere is unlike with Photoshop and other apps. You are simply creating a link inside the project window to external assets, not creating additional files (except for Conformed Audio).

Either way your encoding/authoring/burning times will be the same unless you choose 2 Pass VBR, which take twice as long to encode.
Encoding times are based on several factors;
1. Length of your video
2. Number and type of effects applied
3. Speed of your PC.
4. How much of rush your in (inversely proportioned).

The wide screen thingy is a DVD feature. Many standalone DVD players will pick up a “switch” embedded in the Mpeg file and stretch the video on a TV. Other players will have be manually configured.
Computer monitors can only display square pixels. NLE’s can interpret the captured video for editing.

Keep trying, I have seen badly wrinkled DV tape smooth out completely after several plays and rewinds.

Fat32 File system supports Open DML video files up to 4 gigs. Format the drive as NTFS.

Color safe colors for the web involve only HTML code, not Jpegs or video or Flash.
