What sound card are you using…what drivers?

In Premiere the term is Track Matte, read the Help files for details but basically works like this;
one instance of your video in V1 with Levels applied to brighten it considerably.
another instance of your video in V2 directly above the one in V1.
In V3 is your track matte, a pure white image with a pure black circle in the middle.
Apply the Track Matte effect to V2. In the Effects controls for V2, point the effect to the location of the Track Matte (V3), the type of matte=Luma. Choose Reverse if things are backwards.
You will then need to animate the position and scale of the matte to cover and follow the skater. -
If they are not there already, add “Video Usage” and “Audio usage” to the columns in the Project window. Sort that column by clicking on the name header, select the first blank usage clip and then shift click the last one and press the delete key.

6 File>New>Color Matte. Dont use Black Video…there is a bug.
7. Right click on the clip in the Timeline and choose”Reveal in Project” then double click the now highlighted clip in the source window to see the latest in-out points. -
Right click on the clip in the timeline and choose “Reveal in Project”. The clip will be selected in the Project window, double click it there and the source window will show the latest in-out points.

Export options in Premiere are available when the Timeline is the active window…just click anywhere in the timeline and try again.

Upon further exam I find that switching export settings back from DV to Mpeg2 DVD, the audio type had reset itself to PCM (from Dolby)…kinda strange!

Hi Jeff,
I use a custom preset,it ranges from 5 to 7 mbps cbr depending on the length, quality 4, no changes to GOPs.
I use mainly DV clips but occasionally .wmv or whatever the customer brings.I tried exporting from AME as a dv.avi and that worked in Encore. So then I tried the same clip as .m2v and Encore liked that!! Tried another clip and it seems things are now working fine.
The only thing different from yesterday was fiddling with AME export settings to try your DV test request.

I thought I might have the same concern, but noticed that the resulting incomplete .m2v files were exactly the same size. The cause apparently was a corrupt spot in the clip. A quick edit to eliminate that spot fixed things for me.
