Premiere Pro Export, Bad Video Quality
I’m a full-time videographer, and work primarily with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. I’ve been working on a graduation video, and have encountered a puzzling error. I finished editing the video and exported as a DV AVI (Video: DV (24p Advanced), D1/DV NTSC (0.9); Audio: uncompressed, 48000 Hz, 16-bit). The first video came out just fine. I reviewed it, decided to tweak a few spots, and exported the video a second time. The second time, the video quality was appalling. The image flickered like an old film. (Played back on Win Media Player 9 and in Nero Showtime.) I checked my settings, tried again…same thing happened.
But now a new problem cropped up: whenever I reopen the project file, half the clips show up in the monitor as “Media Offline.” However, the audio plays just fine and the frame preview still shows the clip as there. When I check the raw files in the bin, they all come up as online and correctly linked. After checking the forums, I found this was a CS3 error, and downloaded the patch. However, the patch will not install.
I suspect the two problems are connected, as they started at the same time. I’ve tried re-installing Premiere and changing my export settings. I have also tried burning the video to DVD in case it was a problem with the graphics card. The image flickers when played on the DVD player. I have had no problems with any of my other projects. The raw materials used in this project were DV footage uploaded directly into Premiere from the camera, video ripped from a DVD, and wav audio files.
So, to summarize, I need help with two problems:
1. How to get the Premiere Pro 3.1.2 patch to install?
2. How to fix the export quality of the video?Thanks for your help!
