Uninstalling 6.5 left the Program folder with Matrox plug-ins and Project Presets intact. Either clean them out or Uninstall 6.5 again, then delete the Program folder before reinstalling.
Probably the best card for 6.5 is/was Canopus Storm 2. There are probably dozens in the dust bin that can be had for cheap. Maybe Steve Gotz can pry his loose from under the door and ship it to you.

There is a 4 GB file size limit (regardless of file system) on many legacy codecs that are not Open DML. Try rendering in smaller chunks.

Is the monitor powering off (light on the front goes off) or is the monitor screen going black?? Do you have 2 monitors (identical) connected to your PC?
Do you have an external monitor (TV) connected?
I suspect a faulty video card. -
True 16:9 wide screen can only be viewed from a DVD when exported using 16:9 Mpeg 2 DVD preset AND played back on a player that can read the 16:9 flag embedded in the video.

You dont need AE to resize or export as Flash (.flv), Premiere can do both. Squeeze is only needed if you need a player skin. Otherwise take the .flv file into Flash for authoring a web page.

The Project Manager is needed only if you need to free up disc space. Use the default settings.
Not sure what you mean by 15 sections?? One timeline or 15 timelines? If one timeline, use the Work Area bar to define the first section and in your export settings, select Work Area as the “Range”. Most QT export codecs are poor, except for H264 which requires QT player 7.x to view. -
Lets start from scratch to diagnose this.
Open a new project (DV-NTSC) and import one DV clip into the timeline…edit it some…can you duplicate the problem? -
It seems not a day goes by without questions about importing video from a video DVD. Do a search here.
There is no magic bullet but if the DVD is not copy protected, Premiere Elements 3 is a good solution. I have copied the VOB files to the hard drive, used VideoRedo Plus to do basic cuts and create Mpeg files (without rerendering) that go direct to Encore. -
Microsoft support for digital video involves the DirectShow architecture which consists of 2 types.
Ulead, Movie Maker and other NLE’s produce a DirectShow type 1 DV.avi. Premiere needs Type 2. Suggest exporting back to DV tape from Movie Maker and recapture in Premiere. -
