Have you installed the Cineform plug-in into CS3?
It is always best to finish a project with the version of Premiere that it was started.

What are the properties of your source material?
Why is your Project settings frame rate set to 30 and not 29.97?
Is your target web or DVD?

It is likely that it is just your preview that is blurry. Hit the Enter key to render for a full preview.

I did not intend to be rude or run you off and apologize if you are offended.

Many of the professionals here dont have as much experience working with highly compressed video or reverse engineering DVDs like those folks. That is the nether world of video.

[BobLafleur] “reference for working with the audio”

Change the timeline track’s display mode to “Frames” so you can “see” the individual pics.

If you just need to make cuts with no effects or titles, QT Pro can do the cuts and stitch pieces together WITHOUT re-rendering. Re-rendering will cause another generational loss of quality.
Otherwise create a custom project with the same resolution as the source and edit in Premiere.

External monitor preview with Premiere is Firewire out to either a DV camera with a pass-thru feature and then to your TV…OR to a analog/digital converter, like ADS Pyro A/V link…about $200…more for the Canopus ADVC 100.
