  • Can’t render DVD and CS3 can’t load CS2 project

Posted by Jerry Waters on September 30, 2007 at 3:27 pm

I’m trying to do a DVD. My project was created in PP CS2. It is about 95 minutes, Prospect Cineform files (1920 X 1080, 24p).

First question is I installed CS3, tried to open the file created in CS2. It opens the file but only files in the project – nothing on the timeline.

Second problem. I tried rendering a 720 X 480 widescreen DVD. The program took all night, then stopped in the Burn DVD process with an error message of “Plugin Coder error, no plugin DLLs.” About the only plugin used was the beta test of a popular program.

Any light shed on this would be appreciated since I cannot seem to get a DVD out in any form.

Have you installed the Cineform plug-in into CS3?
It is always best to finish a project with the version of Premiere that it was started.

No, and that could be the problem. It was already on there so I assumed it picked it up. Of course that is the wrong assumption.

Can you shed any light on the “no plugin DLLs” question? It was trying to do an mpg2 file so am I required to but an mpg2 codec. I already bought it with another program and again made the wrong assumption.

    Thanks for the help.

If you had cineform installed in Premiere 2.0 on the same PC as CS3, copy the Cineform plug-in folder from 2.0 into CS3.
    Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro 2\Plug-ins\en_US

Thanks for the help. I called Adobe about the “DLLs missing” problem and the technician was having to research and call me back.
