Moving files from external media, be it hard drive or media cards is simply copy/paste to your hard drive.

In the Export Settings window choose H264 as the Format and one of the 3 YouTube Presets. This is about as good quality within Youtube limits.

AVCHD can take forever to downconvert to SD without at least 2 4 Core CPUs. H264 is about as good as it gets.

How about listing your hardware specs, especially hard drives. Any virus scanner installed?

Try disabling your virus scanners.

Does the sample rate of your source audio (32 or 48 Hz) match your sequence setting?

Defragment the drive prior to capture/

I have used QT Pro to export the audio as a .wav file, replacing the original audio on the timeline.

The most likely cause is dropped frames on capture, leaving audio longer than video. Premiere advises on dropped frames at the top of the capture window during capture. Hardware issues are often the cause, like a too full capture drive, but conflicting software issues can also cause this, like virus scanner.

That is a job for After Effects and an animated mask with as many points as you need…tedious!

As a data DVD you can author in HTML and put video, audio, PDFs and fancy menus…just wont play in a stand alone DVD player or auto run on a Mac.

I would be concerned about your OS…XP 64 is not an Adobe certified OS for CS4 or CS3.
