outputting multiple files on 1 DVD
I may need to produce a DVD VNR. This will get handed out to journalists on site, who are not necessarily loaded with the latest edit suite software. In order to make their life easier, I’d like to provide multiple formats on the one DVD and let them choose which one to use.
Can I burn a .wmv, .mov, .mpeg2, .mpeg4 and perhaps other versions of the selected clips all onto one DVD? This would be 5 minutes of selected footage plus perhaps a few soundbites. Journalists would get the DVD clips to suppliment their own videos. Some I have talked to have pretty old edit systems. I may also want to provide low res and higher res versions. Not sure how easy it is to mix formats.Using PP CS4

As I understand it, a standard DVD will only take one type of format – mpeg-2 at 720 x 480. However, as a user of Encore CS4, I know that there is the ability to create one folder on a DVD which can hold multiple files of any format (such as PDFs). If you have the CS4 suite, it would be a simple matter to point viewers of the DVD toward the alternate formats in the folder on the DVD. This folder is, of course, only available when the user puts the DVD in a computer drive. I don’t think you can do that directly from Premiere – it takes an authoring package to add files to the DVD.

As a data DVD you can author in HTML and put video, audio, PDFs and fancy menus…just wont play in a stand alone DVD player or auto run on a Mac.
