Posted by Lisa Frey on March 8, 2010 at 12:26 amI am capturing mini dv’s from a canon Gl camera into Prem pro on my MAC.
All tapes are now being captured out of sync. This just happened out of the blue, nothing changed??
Now every tape i try and capture i am getting this issue.
Can anyone help.
Thanks

March 8, 2010 at 11:21 amThe most likely cause is dropped frames on capture, leaving audio longer than video. Premiere advises on dropped frames at the top of the capture window during capture. Hardware issues are often the cause, like a too full capture drive, but conflicting software issues can also cause this, like virus scanner.

March 10, 2010 at 3:40 amThank you for responding, my hard drive is pretty full, so i will get rid of some footage and see if that helps.
Thanks again. -

March 10, 2010 at 2:23 pmOK, i need to do that, not sure how though?
I just captured more footage and when it is being captured in capture window, it is all in sync, however when i lay on timeline it goes out of sync. I called adobe before i posted this message, i didn’t have 2 hrs spare to spend on the phone with them, but reinstalled PP and checked my capturing device against the software and all was good, but for some reason it goes out of sync on timelime. Hmmm..do you have any more ideas?
Thanks again -

April 24, 2010 at 4:32 amI am having the same issues with audio… Premiere reports one dropped frame, but that’s not enough to make as much of a difference as I’m seeing here… or is it? I’m pretty sure the dropped frame is a false reading cause there’s one right at the beginning.
I think blaming defragmented harddrives and things is a bit premature these days.. if you have no other major apps running and a good system Premiere should be able to capture.
