I’m using the Memorex BD-RE that came with the MCE Burner. Source video is 1280 X 720 put into a 1080 project. Transcoding is set to automatic, H.264, 23.976.

Yes, there’s only one video on the disk about 1 minute long. It appears to be dropping frames to keep up with the data rate.

Actually AfterEffects does that for you. When I go to 2 gig per core it uses less cores, it updates automatically to use as many cores as it can with the allocated memory.

nope, DVCPRO HD, log and transferred from FCP. I make a new comp in AE 1280 X 720 sqaure pixels and that makes it display correctly. Wh ywould it work better on one machine than the other (especially when the other is a much more powerful computer? Surely it has something to do with the multi processing right? Am I not allocating enough memory per CPU? I’m giving 2 gig per core

I think it may have been an issue with the deck. Our network uses Sony DSR1500a for capturing and when I tried it on a clamshell it captured fine. Thanks for your help!

    gamma: cinelike D

    Matrix: cinelike

    gain: 0dB

    720P/24PN

When I switch over to tape mode, no grain problems. I don’t have the book but I did order HVX bootcamp ( also by Green) upon your reccomendation. I’ve read other posts and I’m not the only one with this noise issue, any tips?

Yeah, After Effects has a good tool (pixel blender) that can generate frames. I was just hoping there was a way to get that smooth motion (if not nearly as “slow”).
