    If it is a spot then I would suggest doing an off-line and then on-lining at a post house that is all set-up. I have done this and saved many thousands of dollars by letting someone else have the headaches. In the near future look for fully configured HD systems that are ready to go. Trying to patchwork something together is an excercise in futility.

    You could probably get a good used deal on a 100B.
    Many DVX users are upgrading to the HVX-200.
    For webwork shoot 30P. This will give you the smoothest
    progressive footage.

    The MAC does not support the DigiSuite codec as MATROX is Windows centric.
    Try converting the DigiSuite file with QT Pro on a PC.

    I think he is getting files from someone who is editing on the DigiSuite. There are no options to export QT from the DigiSuite (that work). What they could try is to convert the DigiSuite file in windows using QT pro and rendering a flavor of QT that the MAC would like.

    I don’t think that codec will work on the MAC. I would make a .tif or .tga or .jpg file sequence from the original Matrox file. Of course you will have to do this on a PC and then import into the MAC from there.

    Waiting for NAB anyway. I think Adobe rolled this out to brunt the impact of
    any Apple announcements pre-NAB. Until Adobe incorporates native import of
    .mxf – Not interested.

    I do some work for Frito-Lay and I KNOW what is in Cheetos,
    but I still eat them.

    You would think so. The info on the P2 card is akin to Digital Photos on your Digital cameras SD card. The whole notion of “capturing footage” goes out the window with P2. The trick will be to get a consistent workflow down. And I cannot wait to see how confused clients will be. I know a few of my clients will get pissed when I keep fiddling with my laptop during a shoot! And trying to explain what you are doing will only confuse them even more. I usually digitize footage on my own after the shoots so for many clients they might feel that this revoultionary way of shooting is slower than shooting on tape. But once they get the entire process down they will discover a streamlined editing process… that will in the long run save everyone time.
