    Which Magic Bullet?
    Colorista, Frames, HD or Looks?

I uninstalled them all and the errors did go away.

I reinstalled and the errors came back.

    Sure.
It turned out that the trouble was in the ‘draft’ settings. In the process of troubleshooting I started with the spike buster, by changing the settings and going into AE to see if it worked.

Then tried different settings on the letters themselves.

As I tried things and went back and forth from AE to Proanimator, I was moving faster and faster.

When i finally got to play with the draft settings, I would move it to the left and immediately exit to AE. What I didn’t realize was I was moving so fast that I would pull the draft controls all the way to the left and when I lifted my mouse and closed Proanimator to go back to AE, the control bar was zipping back to the original position, so I wasn’t seeing a change at all.

Once I slowed down, I noticed this happening and was able to correct the settings.

  • By ‘don’t look as good’ I mean that when i Rotate light one or light two around the glove in PA, the object looks really cool and shiney.

In AE, I have been using the spot light. Not parallel. This may be my problem. The AE lights were making the object look like a glowing, flat, two dimensional object.

I don’t want to animate the object. I am just trying to make a gold logo that shimmers once. Maybe sparkles, but that’s asking a lot.

I’ll try parallel lights this afternoon.

So you’re saying to do the transition before the motion. If that’s the easiest way, it’s fine by me.

  • Your technique did the trick!

I was able to drop all the photos into place with one drop and fit to fill.

Now I can put the dissolves in and start the tedious task of adding motion.

Thanks guys! You’ve saved me two days work.

I’ve been waiting since before my son was born four years ago. Finally bought a Mac this year and Motion 3 has an emitter library.

This is what I tried at first… It’s okay.

I’d love to make it sound a little better though.

January 25, 2008 at 9:49 pm in reply to: RAM preview oddity

Hey! I fixed my problem. My RAM preview was broken and wouldn’t work at all. I uninstalled Nucleo, but at the same time I did this because it is more likely caused by a corrupt Mediacore Cache.

Try these two things and let me know what happens:

1: Purge cache, exit After Effects.

2: Go to you CACHE Folder on the hard drive and DELETE it.

3: Create a new Chache folder. (I named mine “Cache Fix”)

4: Open After Effects and go to Edit/Preferences/Memory and Cache. Choose a new folder (your new cache folder).

5: Exit After Effects. Your fix should be complete.
