It’s happening to me, on my PC, Dual 3.2 Xeon machine. I was working on a tough shot last weekend and my RAM Preview just stopped working. Period.

I’ve done all the tricks and I’m stuck in Tw0-frame-only-land. Purge, recreate the project, open other projects, reboot, restart, purge all and reboot, etc.

I’m finally just rendering the project to see how well I’m doing.

It happened once before and I can’t remember what fixed it.

Perhaps those of us who are having this problem have something in common.

I am working in HiDef, both from P2 and from Cineform.

Last weekend I installed Gridiron Nucleo. I’ve been having this trouble since I installed this program. I’ll try uninstalling it later. I removed it before because I was having some kind of trouble more than a year ago.

I look forward to a solution.

Okay then, what about masking the noise?

An ambient loop of some sort?

Music? I’ve got Sonic fire pro and a bunch of music. It’s a software training film that cuts to a computer monitor quite a bit to demo the steps…. More like a sales pitch, really.

How do you suppose a soundtrack would affect it?

That’s what seems to have happened. I have the repeat problem when the 2nd chapter 1 turns up after chapter 2. I drag the 2nd chapter 1 to the beginning and the problem went away, I had also changed the navagation to ‘not set,’ so I’m not sure which solution fixed my problem.

    Thanks for responding.

  • Bummer. I’m trying to find a way to edit DVCPRO HD without buying a Mac. Avid is my last hope until after NAB.

A Aja Kona LE is under a thousand dollars. That is inexpensive.

I was at a seminar last night about the HVX200 and someone inquired about using Avid XPress DV PRO to edit the footage that comes out of the camera (Avid and Canopus are the only to companies doing it) the speaker somehow manages to say “Yes..” but also included the words “Nitro” and “Adrenalin” quickly in the same sentence and deftly moved on to another question.

    That response made me uneasy.

    DUH!

I’ve got Procoder. IT did the trick.

    Thanks

  • I’d still like to know if AE should be set for 3d or 2d on that layer.

Thanks and sorry for bumbling my posts. I’m fried.

  • If it makes a difference, I’m using After Effects Pro 2 with the latest version of Invig Pro.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for the info.

From what you’re telling me, my motion graphics DVDS and stock footage DVDs ought to work. I’d hate to have to buy them again!

The only problem I think I’ve got, then, is that all my old projects are stored as .avi files — earlier ones with the Microsoft codec and later either uncompressed or with the Main Concept codec.

    I appreciate the information.

    Thanks again.

Was your original footage DVCPRO or DVCPRO HD?
