I would have tried remove grain as you did… Try Smart Blur maybe. Unless reshooting is possible. You may be stuck with a sweaty man. As I often say, it’s hard to make chicken salad from chicken s@#t.

Are you talking about the weird wavy distortion effect? Try Liquify or Puppet Tool.

A G4 is a little oldschool. If you can afford a MacPro you’ll really notice a speed difference (if you have Adobe CS3 software).

I’d take 4D, it retails for 3x the price of PArticular. However you can get the entire Trapcode Suite( a must have, it includes Particular, 3D stroke, Shine etc.) for a little less than C4D. It really depends what kind of work you’re doing.

Also it helps to duplicate the Fractal Noise layer Make it visible & experiment with transfer modes to add shadows and highlights.

I’ve got 2 ways:
1. Buy Zaxwerks 3D Flag… its great & only around $100.
2. Use Fractal noise to create a displacement map. Set the scale width (twirl down Transform)to about 300, the scale height to about 1000 and the complexity to 2. Animate the Evolution. Use this layer as a displacement map for your flag layer. -
FCP detects installs with the same serial # on the network. You can install FCP on both machines but will only be able to open it on one machine at a time if they are on the same network.
