If you had the choice Trapcode Particular or Cinema 4D?

I would go for Cinema 4D just because there’s more that you can do with it that falls well out of the range of possibilities in AE alone. Particular is fantastic, don’t get me wrong, but it still lives inside of AE and has some limitations.

I’d take 4D, it retails for 3x the price of PArticular. However you can get the entire Trapcode Suite( a must have, it includes Particular, 3D stroke, Shine etc.) for a little less than C4D. It really depends what kind of work you’re doing.
