Sorry Michael but I’ve never made a Blu ray disk and don’t want to send you down the wrong path. This topic has been discussed at length on the Cow Vegas forum so I recommend searching there for the answers. Look for posts by John Rofrano as he answers this question a lot and knows what he’s talking about.

There will be no quality hit as both are the same size, just with a different PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio). The former has a PAR of 1.333 while the latter has a PAR of 1.0
I regularly render my 1440×1080@60i projects to 1280×720@30p for YouTube use and don’t have any problems.

I give high bitrate MP4 files to FCP users all the time but I rename them to MOV. No one has ever noticed or complained 🙂

Gabriel, I ran into the exact same problem a year or two ago when I used my JVC camera to record in MOV instead of MP4 format. Nothing I tried could get the file to open on a PC until someone suggested the free XDCAM .MOV to .MXF converter from Convergent Design.

Ron, Handbrake is much better if you need good low bitrate video. That’s where it shines as it’s far better than anything you can get out of Vegas.

To follow up on John’s suggestion, hit the FFWD button to go to the end of the timeline. If it goes past further than you expected, there’s your problem. It’s happened to all of us at one time or another so don’t worry about it. Just fix it and continue on 🙂

If the files are in a folder, right click on the Share link icon at the far right, select Share link, click Get link (copies it to your clipboard) and paste it here.
If they’re individual files, go the folder where they reside, right click on the file name, select Copy public link and copy and paste the link that comes up on here.
