Someone at a camera shop told me today that I can’t shoot with the JVC HD110 and capture it using Vegas unless I shoot 60i. That Vegas won’t handle 24p or 30p

Absolute bull!!
Vegas was the first NLE to successfully handle 24p (on the Panasonic DVX-100) and continues to do so extremely well to this day.
The person at the camera shop has obviously never sat down and played with Vegas 🙁

Every once in a while, after I do a render, the markers refuse to show in DVDA. I know I put them there AND selected the Save Markers option in Vegas but, for whatever reason, they don’t show up.
I generally don’t have a lot of markers in my projects so I’ll add them manually but it sure would be nice to know why this happens.

Oddly, that fixed the audio problem. I can’t imagine why.

I know I’ve read the reason why on various Vegas forums but it went over my head 🙂

But why is it dumping my chapter markers?

It’s happened to me periodically as well, even after pressing the Load Markers button in DVDA. No rhyme or reason for this behaviour 🙁

Christopher, with all due respect, that’s what Vegas is for.
Even when Vegas started out, it was a multi-track audio app.
I used Sound Forge back then for sweetening of individual tracks or segments and still do it this way today.

I’m very pleased with the upgrade and already have it installed on my system.

Try this tweak for low audio in DVDA.

Encode set to AC3;
Click on custom tab;
Dialog normalization: -31 dB;
Dynamic range compression: None;
On the first tab set diag. norm to “-31”;
On the last tab marked preprocessing;
Set the Line Mode & RF mode profiles to “None”;
Now save this as a preset.

Our licensing agreement permits you to install the software on as many machines as you own, as long as you are not running the programs at the same time. For instance, you can install the software on your home machine and on your laptop. You are not allowed to install the software on multiple machines if you are going to be using them simultaneously, such as in a home studio setting. If you are going to run the software concurrently on more than one machine, you would need to purchase a separate license for each computer.

Note that when you install the software on a different computer you will need to complete the registration process again. Register the software as you did the first time to unlock the program on each machine. You can register online directly within the software, via the phone, or on our website through our online form.
