I’m trying to record AC-3 on an audio cd. After encoding into AC-3, I used Nero 7 to burn cd but when I played it back on my dvd player, it only plays in 2 channels. I encoded AC-3 @ 44.1 mHz so what’s the problem?

In nero when you put audio files into the compilation,
they will be instantly converted to 44.1 kHz 16 bit stereo uncompressed as an audio cd can hold only this type of data.
Don’t expect audio cd to be 5.1 channel 😉

Well I can burn DTS Wave files in Nero and have 5.1 so why not AC-3?

Because Nero hasn’t (won’t) pay Dolby the licensing fees to allow this?
