Make sure that you’re using either the DVD Architect 24p NTSC video stream or DVD Architect 24p NTSC Widescreen video stream MPEG-2 preset when you’re doing your render from Vegas.
If you can, for that short of a video use a custom bitrate setting of 8,000,000 for your video.DVD Architect doesn’t know any better and will burn whatever is give to it.

I’ve captured hundreds of hours of miniDV and VHS tape over the years using Vegas Pro so I’m sure that solution is in a missing setting.
When you open the capture window, go into Options – Preferences- General and make sure that Enable DV device control is NOT selected.
Now click the Disk Management tab. This is where you choose the folder location for your captured video. If a location is already there,check it first as that’s where the video that you thought you captured might be found. If nothing is there, pick a new location. When I start a new project, I create a master project folder and several folders inside of it with one of them being the Captured Video folder. Once this is done, press play on the VHS machine and start capturing. Try a short test first to make sure things are working properly. Good luck and let us know if it does or doesn’t work for you. -
I don’t see a noise removal plugin on the features list for Audio Studio but if you can upload a WAV file of one of the sections, we can play with it and let you know the best way to attack the problem.

If your version allows you to it, that is the ideal way. If there’s an option for AC-3 audio, that’s the one to select. Make sure to give it the same name as the video file. That way, when you load the video file into Architect Studio, the audio will automatically follow.
I use Vegas Pro and DVD Architect Pro but the steps should be the same so try it and see. Good luck. -
If you’re talking about the lens on a video camera, the tried and true method is to use a proper test chart. B&H does sell a lot of different ones. The chart manufacturer that I’m familiar with is DSC labs and here’s a link to their resolution charts.

If those are too much money for you, here’s a link to a free one that you can download and print. This one is designed for still cameras but might be suitable for your use. I highly recommend using a laser printer for the best possible quality.

Will, I just downloaded your file and had no problems opening it in Pro 10 on my home machine. I have QuickTime Player 7.6.8 installed on it.

This has been a very interesting thread as I’m in the early stages of specing out a new machine and finding a good graphics card for Vegas is, to say the least, somewhat difficult.
A few folks on the Sony Vegas forum are really liking the new AMD R9 290 card. It’s not the cheapest (nor the most expensive) but the reviews so far have been very positive.

#1. Click in a blank space under the timeline (i.e. not on a track that has something on it).
#2. Options – Preferences -General. Select Make spacebar and F12 Play/Pause instead of Play/Stop -
Look at the Fade in/out video event question thread as it has a script for fading events in and/or out that might be what you’re looking for.
