I had the same problem. To be sure the directions on running the application are unclear on the instruction page. They say nothing of extracting the zip and running the application within it before moving the file to the camera so it can update. That was the difference to end my frustration. You might have other issues. I was only pointing out what I needed to do in the attempt to help.

Download the firmware to your desktop and then extract the zip file to the desktop.

Open the extracted file and double click the application. A run prompt appears.

Click run and a .bin file will load and appear above the application file.

Open the connected camera drive from my computer in a separate window.

Then drag the .bin file into the root file.

Remove the camera from the computer. Leave the card in the camera and power it off.

Turn the camera on and press the playback button at your left thumb. Press the yes prompt on screen and let it load.

John, I think we covered this before in dealing with a Boris Red issue that exhibited the same behavior when not using the Best (full) option in preview. Great explanation, as usual.

Thanks John. I should know better at this point. I have been away from it for awhile and jumped to conclusions without taking the time to think about what was happening.

Thanks Jon. There is a lot of documentation missing pertaining to Vegas. I would appreciate it if you could point me toward other NLE uses of the FX. As noted it is a bit cumbersome at times to decipher one NLE tutorial to another.

No, not hardly for wildlife, Noah. Most of what I would want to do is with using a tripod. Not to say I won’t be doing some walking and shooting.

Thanks Bill. I am about to pull the trigger on a GH4. With prices being as they are it is good to realize my past investment into the lenses was not in vain. At some point I will catch up to auto focus lenses.

Thanks Russ. I need to use the motion tracker more than I do. It was a matter of turning track on the fly off. I learned that some time ago, but apparently it didn’t take, lol. Thanks much for the export/import tip as well. Mike

I sort of like background noise as long as it isn’t drowning out the dialogue with the speakers having to yell or holler over the noise.
