Walking or tripod? My favorite one lens is the 20mm pancake. But that’s not going to reach closeups on wildlife.

No, not hardly for wildlife, Noah. Most of what I would want to do is with using a tripod. Not to say I won’t be doing some walking and shooting.

I’d guess a zoom is ok outdoors assuming daylight where you don’t care as much about maximum aperture. But these lenses are much less useful indoors where light is at a premium.

If you’re outdoors the 14-140 is a nice choice. It’s got a nice range from wide angle to telephoto. It’s Achilles Heel is that it’s pretty slow, but that shouldn’t matter much outside. It’s also relatively inexpensive.
