It would be nice if you could open an existing title within the titler, like in any other ctrl+o situation, rather than having to go back to the bin and double-clicking.

I installed QT 7 – and PPro, Photoshop 7 and Premiere 6.5 all came up as unregistered, and could not be re-installed properly until QT 7 was uninstalled.

If it is true that you can’t open SW bins, programs or projects in M100i or HD, then what is the point of taking a project on the road if you can’t do anything with it once you get home?
An EDL – for transferring within the same software family – seems silly.
Will a laptop allow you to work with 300 kb files?Well, we are still using 7.5 on OS 9, so I guess this doesn’t really concern me, just wanted to get my 2 cents in.

I seem to recall my 6th grade music teacher had a record player which did this. Maybe you should contact him if he’s still alive 🙂
Seriously, he must have had a special record with the vocals only on one channel.

we have used a vendor to this this on a few occasions. You can send them a master tape, and they somehow encode the line 21 info onto it or make a submaster with the captioning. They will also send you a caption file, which can be used with dvd.
Most recently I did all my editing, made masters, then made submasters going tape to tape. While the dubbing occurred, I had one phone line going out with program audio, then another coming in with the captioning signal, which somehow added it to a composite video feed. Pretty clever really. You can even digitize this and edit without erasing the line 21 data.
Caption Advantage in Syracuse, NY is the vendor. They were pretty resonable. They do some of the network nightly newscasts also.

is the interview for a dvd authoring job? If not, I would keep the menus simple, and offer to send the interviewer a DVD authoring demo if it comes up in the interview.
No sense in pulling your hair out if you don’t have to. -
if you look at the adobe.com page for Premiere Elements 2.0, I wonder if these consumer-ish features are coming our way: import video from DVD, cell phone, DVD camcorder – export for variety of devices such as phone or pda – thumbnail transition animations like premiere 5 used to have – templates for dvd menus…?
Lets hope we don’t get these features unless they come with some of the pro features we have been pontificating about.

I would imagine the Adobe lunch room has the walls lined with printouts from these boards.
Once a week a bearded man in a flannel shirt walks into the room, there is a hush among the programmers, half eaten bowls of rice pudding are left on lunch trays as the selection begins. One rubber stamp which reads “fabuloso” is applied to selected feature requests, while the rest remain untouched.
Then a week later the selected features are demonstrated to the bearded one, and whittled down again to the final few which go into the update. It takes many great ideas to make a few fantastic ones.
Then when the update comes out, there are some who love the new features, some who complain about missing ones, and others who criticize even the new features, but who use them anyway.Sound familiar?

The workflow with Encore is whatever you are comfortable with.
I generally do all my editing in Premiere Pro – export m2v and wav – import those into Encore, make chapters. Then make the menus.
Or if I am doing another issue in the same series, I first import all the menus from an earlier project, make my changes in Photoshop, make sure all the buttons and navigation and remote control buttons are to my liking, then import and link up the video.
Lots of testing, which despite a few bugs, is pretty easy.
Can’t complain really.
List your complaints, chances are the others on this board will come up with a solution for you.
Star Wars type DVDs with random menus and hidden easter eggs use something more advanced than most of us need.
