I have the same question. Unfortunately, I do not have Production Studio so therefore, I don’t have Dynamic Link. What is the proper workflow that would allow me to export from Premiere, work with in After Effect, render back to Premiere in a totally lossless format?

I am looking at it in full quality. Pixel Aspect Ration Correction is off.
It seems to me that I am just noticing the difference in quality when the AE monitor is slightly larger than the Premiere monitor. Also, when you make the AE monitor an odd size (i.e. 81.67%) it is more pixelated.

I did get the artifacts to look a little bit better by maxing out the blend steps to 256 in the extrude and bevel settings. However, there is still one annoying line that appears to be the original stroke that was extruded.
Any ideas how to get rid of that line? — See the following link:

I found it. I got Total Training’s Adobe After Effects 6.5 DVD’s. I just thought the tutorial was much older than these training DVD’s.
Anyway, it works just like you described it. Thanks again!

Something similar happened to me. I am running a Windows machine with 2GB of RAM (4 x 512MB). The only time my system would hang up was when I was compressing video or rendering with After Effects. Turns out that my 4th bank of RAM was bad. This explains why my system ran fine most of the time. Windows rarely uses anything more than the first 512MB of RAM until you are running an intense program like AE. It also explaines why you can render for about the first minute before the hang-up. Try removing one bank of RAM at a time. Or perhaps there is a Mac utility like MemTest that can diagnose your RAM.
