Thanks for your awesome post and advice!
It’s a six minute audio animation and you are right, I will try to replace it in after effects and render it out into “lossless” with the adobe media encoder…
about sorenson: I did some testing, and call me crazy: the result was always better!! maybe my media encoder setting were wrong…but!
I did these quicktime replace steps and I really like the results:
– I compared the video mp4 in after effects and there was no artifacts or whatsoever…
– the replaced audio was AAC 320kb 48Hz 16bit: same here…I think that is a quick work around with no negative outcome 🙂

is there a way to replace just the audio in a mp4 video with premiere or after effect without rendering?
that’s the beauty of the quicktime pro process, or am I wrong? I don’t have to render/just any new codec/compression!!I can clearly import the lossless .mov file into after effects, turn off the audio, add the new one…
but then I have to render again through the media encoder for losless mov and then compress it again with sorenson to youtube compatible mp4 file…can someone else confirm that I don’t loose quality with this process?
I’m loading the two mp4 (old and new with replaced audio) inot after effects and I’m looking for artifacts…
Thanks for sharing your experience!

or did i miss something… -
okay… thanks… but is it really that better than the internal ae-cs3-flv-decompressor???

hi dan, thanks for your link… wow, a lot of of great expressions… i’m looking forward to use them 😉
but:
the problem i have doesn’t concern the wiggle() expression…
“wiggle path” is a animation, you can add to a shape-layer in after effects cs3… and it doesn’t loop smoothly… or is there a hidden way to do it???ah, i could pre-compose it… reverse it and add it to the original… it’s just a try…
best wishes, mika

yes thanks… this tutorial is great… but:
in fact i’ve had a problem in illustrator… if i want to create an outline from a artistic brush stroke, it doesn’t work…
mmmh…cheers, mika

oh gosh… thank you so much… some times it’s so easy 😉
but one thing: when i scale the path (in this case a letter) up, it’s getting blurred… i thought the advantage of paths is that you can scale it without any distortion???
if this is a bug, and let’s say i have created a logo in illustrator, do i have to scale it up in illustrator, paste in after effects, scale it down there… so for the possibility, i have to sclae it up in future, there is no distortion… ???
mmhh, is this a way, you do it too? what is the professional solution?
best wishes, mika
