Yes I have 4.5 and 10.3.8.
Maybe I also find out what is disturbing the capture. I deleted some shots before finishing the capture session. I stopped capturing and made clip offline in the bin. When I repeated capture without breaking process (making some shots offline) it was all fine.
Thank you for suggestions. I really don’t have need to upgrade to tiger and FCP5 but now I will consider.

I guess you repaired permissions after upgrade?

All I can say is that your observations are also true for me. Besides jittery you can also get flashes of green line at the bottom. The same is with U-matic and Hi-8. Our old system Matrox Digisuite with Edit* is noticeable more stable. But I would say this is happening only to the most damaged tapes. I also didn’t check with the last IO drivers.

Twice I got weird result when capturing. I had problems with fields but not usual flickering. I wrote post here https://www.creativecow.net/forum/read_post.php?postid=111297151945071&forumid=150&highlight=
Maybe is something concerning this.

Problem solved, I think.
I repaired permissiomns and it seems that was a trick. I didn’t do that before because I didn’t install any programs, but now I remebered that I put new plug-in in FCP.
Thank you.

[Lee Berger] “3. Will DVCAM footage look any different if edited onto an UC 10 bit timeline rather than the DV timeline?
No, however your graphics and renderings will look better at 8 or 10 bits, then using the DV codec. If you’re going to do a lot of rendered compositing, then your composites should look better if you capture to 8 or 10 bit via YUV. “This is the main point with your project. If you think that uncompressed is the way to go, than YUV is better method than software decompression. You can also apply one additional enhancement, which will also help footage not only graphics. You can try g-nicer filter, look here: https://www.nattress.com/filmEffectsGNicerTests.htm

AJA IO LA has only analog connectors.
Regarding firewire 800 card, you can get card from G-tech, which they guaranty it will work. Actually that is my configuration: g-raid on firewire card and AJA LA on internal port. There are no concerns with this configuration.

Reduced latency delay! That is pleasant surprise!

Go on g-tech forum on cow and you will get more answers. I’m usin g-raid with 8-bit without problems. I only tested 10 bit for shorh clip and I didn’t had drop frames. I would try longer capture, but now we are full until summer, so i cannot help you. As i sad, check on g-tech and Medea forum.

I have g-raid 500 GB for a couple months and I didn’t have any problems with frame drop on longer projects – 1-3h. Mainly I have one stream unc. 8-bit but with colour correction and broadcast safe sometimes on it. It also works with allmost full disk.
For small projects you can get more than two streams.
Check g-tech forum here on Cow.
