    I have Apple G5dual 2.5G + 2Gb
    I Use AJA Io and G-RAID 2/500 (FW800)
When i capture 10bit uncopressed (SDI to 10bit) i have drop frame, but when i capture to internal disk – all ok and when i capture 8bit to G-Raid it’s Ok too.
    MAC OSX – 10.3.8
    QT – 6.5.2
    AJA Io – 1.3.1 (FW21-26)

I am not surprised by your results. These are just Firewire800 drives, just like the Lacie. They do 8 bit uncompressed (which is fine for “broadcast quality”), and DVCPro50 and DVCProHD.

    Be happy – it’s cheap.

Go on g-tech forum on cow and you will get more answers. I’m usin g-raid with 8-bit without problems. I only tested 10 bit for shorh clip and I didn’t had drop frames. I would try longer capture, but now we are full until summer, so i cannot help you. As i sad, check on g-tech and Medea forum.

Are you using the internal FW 800 port or a PCI FW 800 card?

The AJA IO uses all the FW and from what I have been told the 400 & 800 FW buses on the G5’s is shared. You should use a PCI card.
