  • IN OTHER WORDS, I have to turn clear the monitor window and then exit Avid. I then do the maintenence steps (MCstate, the 2 files (.pri, and ?) and then turn Avid back on. It will still have the clear monitor and I can capture. If I put something in the monitor window or even play back something I’ve captured, then I have problems and have to go thru this sequence again by clearing the monitor and then exiting Avid.

  • no, I don’t have MOJO and I just posted a new explanation of what’s happening… I’ve worked on this around the clock for 10 days.

5 hours later…. I have discovered that if I move my files into a new bin and create new user setting, it still doesw the same msg.AvDisposableHandle.mac warning and doesn’t let me capture. What I now have discovered is that if I don’t have any file loaded on the timeline (hence no image in the monitor), it wil let me capture just fine. The moment I put a sequence on the time line, boom… I get the msg.Av….. warning and it won’t capture.

I HAVE THE LATEST QUICKTIME… I EVEN REMOVEED QUICKTIME AND REINSTALLED IT. I ALSO UNINSTALLED AVID 4.81 AND RE-INSTALLED IT. I’VE DONE NORMAL MAINTENENCE LIKE REMOVE MCSTATE.

    HELP!!!!!

  • re-load Quicktime and it should work. You may have to download quicktime from it’s site.
