My mac tower and Premere worked fine until I upgraded to High Sierra. Prior to that, things were close to perfect. Now I can’t open mts files in OS. It’s the new Quicktime that they built into High Sierra. It’s now a separate program anymore. 2017 Premiere doesn’t work either. Oddly, I discovered that my old Prelude 2015 works fine. Also a note, both Apple and Adobe act like there are no problems… both relate as if I’m a beginner who has some toy cameras and have no idea what I’m doing after a career of network production for over 40 years. I even talked to a friend at DV Magazine today who tested my mts problem and she got the same result. Apple is ignoring this elephant in the room. Hundreds of people have posted about it.

December 21, 2017 at 2:54 am in reply to: High Sierra doesn’t recognize AVCHD files and Premiere 2018 makes it worseThanks, I did that. Problem is, when I try to import to Adobe Premiere, either 2017 or 2018, it doesn’t work. Like I’ve mentioned, Prelude 2015 works fine but then I can’t import into Premiere so that makes no difference.

December 21, 2017 at 2:50 am in reply to: High Sierra doesn’t recognize AVCHD files and Premiere 2018 makes it worse2017 didn’t work. It worked before I upgraded my OS to High Sierra. By accident, I discovered that my Prelude 2015 does work but that doesn’t do me any good as when I move it to Premiere, I have the same problem.

December 19, 2017 at 2:28 am in reply to: A workaround solution for the conflict between High Sierra and .mts files not recognizedI just spent 4 hours on the phone with 2 Adobe tech’s in India. They took over my screen… did everything I’d done… cache files, etc. Nothing worked. This problem has gone on for months and thousands of Adobe users have posted about it but no answers yet. If you have any ideas… HELP!!!! Mickey Grant

December 18, 2017 at 7:42 pm in reply to: A workaround solution for the conflict between High Sierra and .mts files not recognizedI’m importing them like I have done so for years using media browser. All of this problem started when I moved up to High Sierra. My mts files would play any more so I then got VLC and they play now. High Sierra Quicktime is now built into the OS and doesn’t play mts any more. So, I have that problem solved. I’ve cleaned my media cache. I’ve gone back to Premiere 2017 1.2 ver11. Adobe got rid of Dolby after that version. I’ve done everything. HELP?????

I did all of that and it worked but I can’t get it to work from within Adobe Premiere 2017. Any suggestions?

I bet it will work. My problem has been importing these mts files into Premiere as it won’t seem to work. I’m doing your suggestion tomorrow. Mickey
