This is very easy to do, you only need two things:

    1) Your Camera
    2) Bucket of water

Then simply go hunting! Prowl your streets until you find a stray, this is where you might want to consider your casting; what kind of dog do you want? There’s sure to be several around. If your neighbourhood lacks strays then just find some lady walking her dog.

Then just set your camera to record and throw the bucketfull of water onto the dog.

Then just chase the dog around with your camera on it until it shakes.

If you’re having colour changing troubles between the two programs change the colour space you’re working on in Photoshop. Go to Edit>Color Preferences and see if any of the other colour spaces works better for you.

If you have the professional version then you have it, it’s just not under render anymore! Check in Noise & Grain>Fractal Noise.

I don’t think a Windows machine can do it in 6.0. But if you haven’t upgraded to 6.5 you SO should. You get hundreds of

When you put your title in the render queue click on output module and pick a format that allows for an alpha channel. (Such as quicktime, animation codec, millions+, the + stands for alpha).

And to answer your other question, yes you can preview on a monitor if you have AE 6.5, check the help files for info on firewire output.
I have a firewire card that goes into my camera which feeds into my telly.

That depends on what you’re trying to do. A little more information would be nice.

  • You just need Trapcode’s Shine plug-in to make that lovely burst of light. If you like that squiggly line too, then you’ll want Trapcode’s 3d Stroke as well.

This is probably going to be very easy for you Jonathan.

In your composition that includes your voiceover create a new solid.
Name it something creative like “sound waves”.
Then apply Effect>Render>Audio Spectrum or Audio Wavefore
Then in the effect menu simply choose your audio layer as the “audio layer”
Then all you need to do is tweak the look of it!

  • Thanks Dave and Andrew, I’ll give those things a try.
I know MPEG2 isn’t the best for editing. I wasn’t planning to use it at all. It’s just that I lost the source footage so I had nothing left but that stupid little mpeg.
