I have AE 6.0 and either I’ve missed it, or the fractal noise effect wasn’t included with this version. I’m trying to run through Chris Zwar’s “Flying Through A Tunnel…” tutorial but it seems that I can’t without fractal noise. Does anyone know how to replicate this in 6.0? Is there somewhere that I could download the plug-in? Any advice for this AE noob would be greatly appreciated.

If you have the professional version then you have it, it’s just not under render anymore! Check in Noise & Grain>Fractal Noise.
