If you add a camera to your seen then add a null and make it 3d and parent the camera to the null then rotate the null, as p suggested, you will love yourself.

If you have done such a thing you can move the null around the composition and wherever the null is, is where the camera’s looking and where the camera’s gonna spin.

It’s brilliant I tell you, genius I say! (name that film)

AE 6.5 comes with a load of text effect presets, some of which do what you’re describing. You can apply them and then disect them to see how it’s done. Or just use them to do what you want, they rock.

This has been discussed many times before. There was a great response using expressions to get that frame blended motion. Search posts (including the archives) for the answer.

Chris is great, do what he says. But if what he says isn’t exactly what you’re looking for could you do what you want with two clicks in Trapcode’s Starglow?

I don’t have time (or a terribly fast connection at the moment) to look at the add, but if you tweaked with some settings in Effect-Simulation-Shatter you might get something that’s workable for your usage.

  • You don’t even need to do it in 3d, although I think 3d would look better. Just scale down the video layers and parent them all to a null and scroll them on by. You’ll have to split the layer you want to come forward and make the copy not parented to the null obviously.

But he’s right, no plugin, proper work.

Some film ink. Some use a graphics program. It depends on the effect you’re going for.

Just how DO I get those lovely light rays shining through my text like in ALL the movie trailers and the mcdonalds ad?

Oh, and tell me how to add more lens flares to my graphics, they look SOOO cool!

And please tell me how to get this keylight and CC Effects I can’t seem to find them in the menus.

What’s the best system for running AE?

    What are your favourite plugins?

My text is just a flat plane, I pushed the 3d button, but it doesn’t have any depth!?!?!?!?!? How do I make it really 3d?

Shatter starts on the layer right away, I want to delay it some…how?

The text to dust tutorial is confusing me.

    Ayoto doesn’t speak English.
