Why not just give them, why do we need to ask.If you encode with compressor you can encode the audio as ac3, this is a must for long videos. Uncompressed is 1.5Mbps vs .192Mbps for ac3, that is a lot of bitrate that is better used for the video or to make it fit.
As far as the video bitrate is concerned you need a bitrate calc and you add up all the video run time and find out how high it can go to fit on the disc. If you gave the TRT I could tell you the bitrate.

Size of the computer has nothing to do with have fast it is. 🙂If you migrated you should completely uninstall (use a program called FCS Remover) and then do a fresh install of the app. Migrating m save time when you first start out but you will be paying a heavy price from that moment on.

You can reorder order of the columns, once again a quick look at the manual would be very helpful.

If you scroll your bins over (in list view) you will see columns with Frame rate/codec/field order and so on.
this gives you a way to see how different everything is, even the sequences at the same time.Right clicking on a clip and going to Item Properties will give a clear view of that that clip is.
You should really take some time looking at the FCP interface that is in the manual.

sounds like you have the anamorphic box checked. If you are working with 4:3 footage that should not be on. that is the first thing I would look at.

this is not a DVD authoring question, you may want to post it in the Director or Flash forum. Those guys may use aliases. That is not something that would be used on a DVD.

NEVER migrate ProApps, you will have nothing but trouble down the room. Kyle, don’t you have a thread about poor performance? this maybe the reason.

I doubt if USB3 will come to the Mac, Steve Job doesn’t like it (for whatever reason) and if Steve doesn’t like it we are stuck. I think we are waiting for FW5600000000 or something like that.

I’m converting T2i footage all the time, even on my 2nd gen MBP which is slower than new iMacs and it converts the H264 (they are not AVCHD) into prores in about 2-3x so a 5 min clip will take about 10-15 minutes.
How are you converting the files.

H.264 is a type of MPEG-4 compression. Quicktime is just a wrapper, it is really not a thing.Totally agree with the if this is your ONLY video camera. Had a bunch of people ask me if I was going to sell my HVX now that I got a DSLR, no way. Two different set of tools both have there strengths and weaknesses.
