As far as making the file the correct codec.
For Export Settings
Format: MXF OP1a
Preset: XDCAM HD 50 PAL 50iall the defaults can be left as is.
This does not bypass the concern that Shane states.

For 708 and Premiere you need an .mcc file instead of a .scc.
Ask the people that do your captioning to send you this type of file. When you bring the mcc file over to the timeline it will have two tracks. Top is 708 bottom is 608.

The project was simple. Cut down a long video add some B-roll and cut in some commentary. The footage was xdcam 1440×1080 29i as was the sequence. B-Roll and commentary was 1920×1080 29i. Exported as XDCAM HD50 NTSC 60i.
We started seeing the red frames on export this past weekend. It would be XDCAM HD50 material and exporting to H264 for web versions.
There are no effects or filters added, just simple cuts.

What version of Premiere are you on, I have CC (7.2.2) and there is nothing about Mercury Transmit.
Plus if I could turn it off that would kill the display which is needed since the main function is quality checking.

I still have the problem on non AJA systems but it is worse with the Kona Card system by far. I tried the system audio a while back and it didn’t seem to help much. I will give it another try as soon as I round up 1/4″ to mini cables.
The problem is really with mxf files with XDCAM codec. ProRes playback much better.

Sorry but that makes no sense at all. The issue is unstable playback. I know the audio is there.

One system in on Mountain Lion so it just goes to the App store. I will try on the older system. Frustrating to say the least.

Yes but then you have to burn the project to your hard drive as a DDP 2.0 file. This can be delivered to the replicator on a hard drive or thumb drive. You can also burn the ddp folder onto a data DVD but that is the least relabel media.

DVDs are always and only SD, if you are in NTSC you need to downconvert to 720×480 and if you are coming from a HD timeline make it 16:9 aspect ratio. Never let iDVD or DVDSP do your downconverting. You should export this SD with ProRes as the codec if you are bring it into iDVD. (Or AIC). If you have an interlace timeline in FCP you need to keep the downconversion as upper field first.

FCP exports video with the TC of the clip, if you In point is on 1:00:00;00 then your clip will be. Then in DVDSP you have to use asset based.
You should be able to open your scc file in text edit (open a duplicate copy), you will be able to see your CC’s timecode. The text is just alpha-numberic code.
What did the CC company view to make the CC file?
If you just drop in the video and attach the scc file, burn a disc or just build the video TS folder. Open one of these up in the software DVD Player and turn on CC. Is it working?
I’m going to be hit and miss soon so it would be better to keep this on line.
