Is there a difference with the media around that point? A different filter? If an export keeps failing at roughly the same point I would look closely at the words footage.

    Chris,

    Thanks, very helpful.

Is there an anti-virus software and settings you recommend.

Wish flash would just go away for good.

I’m not paranoid, just want to be cautious and start off with good habits. I will look into sandboxing.

As for #6, I have a VPN at my house that allows me to get to servers when I’m on the road. You recommend using that so the web traffic is going through the company firewall before getting to me?

Check the multicam source sequence. Right click and choose open in timeline. Make sure one of the tracks visibility is not turned off.

So no one out there uses a PC to edit that is connected to the internet, uses it to check email. Take it to a coffee shop to do a little work? Every PC is almost completely locked down. Takes 2 computers EVERYWHERE they go. Your onsite and you have your editing laptop and then a second to get connected.

If so, this would confirm every Mac person’s evaluation of why not to go with a PC.

Carrying two systems with you is just not practical. I understand that with everything you do you add a level of vulnerability but there has to be suggested steps to take.

  • Thanks but I’m looking for 11.0.2 specifically not the current 11.1 or 2015.5 versions.

Of course it is, I’m hoping someone has insight on how to fix it on that system.

I tried everything including restarting, even tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it didn’t bring the right click back.

Simple thing fixed it. I have about 5 bins opened on a second monitor, as soon as I closed them it started working again. Really crazy.

While I was having the issue I opened older versions of Premiere and the right click worked but I didn’t have bins open.

Do see why that would cause an issue like this but it did.

Do you mean default to open .prproj when you double click on them?

IF that is what you want. Right click on a file > Get Info > Look for Open With, set to the app version you want. Also click change all. Now when you double click a file it will launch that version.

Note that this will try to open all the project files in that version so if you have a newer project file it will not open. But when you want to open that is the newer version you right click again and go to Open With there.

  • If you have a CC track that you made in Premiere and you go to the Caption tab in Export Settings screen. If the Export Options is greyed out, you have not selected a supported Format/preset. Once you do you will have the Create Sidecar File and will have several choices of files. There is an timed text xml.

Try the format for either Quicktime or MXF OP1a
