I had the blue and green switched hard to see in the dark. Works fine now. I did have it set to RGB but changed that.

    Thanks for the quick responses.

I edit and author on a 1.5 17″ PB and before that a 1.0 15″ so I would say it’s more than doable.

I have a 17″ MBP on order, at NAB they the Shake Demo class were held on the 15″ MBP.

As noted if you use Motion I would look into the 15″ MBP instead.

rent/use 35mm lenses (expensive) the is an adapter that lets you mount them.

get closer, the further back you are the more depth of field you get.

in iTunes change the import pref to Aiff instead of the AAC and it will give you that option on convert to…

You can also try opening the file in Quicktime Pro and do an export (this is the way I do it with mp3 files)

Kind of wierd, I wanted to see if is was just that the card could not do the DC from a DVCProHD timeline so I made a new project with a Uncompressed 10 bit TL brought in the footage, rendered it and it played back just fine. But now the orginal DVCProHD timeline plays out to the SD monitor just fine. I just it just needed to be shown the way.

Can the Kona card not do the downconvert with DVCProHD timeline? I did a quick test and all seems to work if I make a uncompressed HD 8 bit timeline and rend the footage it plays back correctly,

    David,

Very good point and I have had that in the back of my mind. How will the downconvert with Media Manager compare with downconvert via the Kona card.

Also the client is only paying for a general color correction and not a scene by scene, so we are just evening it out. My video shader in the truck was awesome so we are really close to begin with. I just need to make sure that there is not a issue with it not being broadcast safe. Plus I think we need to letterbox the video going to DBeta tape since it is for braodcast.

I don’t have a DBeta record deck and sometimes it is cheaper to take a HD to a place that does and just have them lay it off.

If that is all you have you don’t even need the Kona card, you would want to capture FW. But if you did want to capture the video via component analog you would need the AJA Io LA.
