I often end up filming in small conferance rooms. Is there any feature in the Panasonic 100B that can help with this. I already shoot wide open and get subject as far from background as possible. I heard there is a macro feature in the camera that is a technique that can help. Any help is appreciated.

Try some ND filters. Reading up a bit on cinematographer techniques is also a great idea.

rent/use 35mm lenses (expensive) the is an adapter that lets you mount them.

get closer, the further back you are the more depth of field you get.
