I have never seen this within a clip but I have on some whole clips, did you shot 720P @ 24pN if you did try to re-Log and Transfer and uncheck the Remove duplicate frames in the prefs.

Not trying to make fun of you, just that has to be the most low key response to a BIG problem. I would try to get my money back from whoever sold it to you. One of the gambles with eBay but if it is a good reseller they should consider it DOA or defective and give you a refund.

if you are scanning a 4×6 picture at 600 dpi you get a 2400×3600 pixel image to work with, you are the only one that kwons how much movement you need or if you photos are smaller or bigger than 4×6. If you are using a 720p timeline you get a bit more movement than what you are use to whereas in 1080i you get a little less.

I haven’t been able to make it back to do more testing, it maybe Wednesday or Thursday before I get another shot at it.
I’m really leaning that something is up with my laptop, I tried to do a live capture with my HVX through the FW and was having a lot of issues with that also. Unfortunately I have loaned out the camera for a week so I cannot follow up with that either.
I will post back after I do some more testing.

I entered the video world by taking a job as a system sales, my first time pricing out a Sony 2/3″ DVCAM, there was a lot of “what do you mean, x is not included” 🙂 you learn really fast about all the stuff that is NOT included.

This is a HDV deck so unless you have the camera and the deck set to DV25 there is no way of getting it to record a DVCProHD signal. -
To be fair, every professional level camera is that way, Panasonic advertises the HPX500 as a 15K camera but before you can shoot with it you will be spending at least $25K. I will grant you that everything is an extra but I think anyone that prices cameras should find this too strange.
I’m totally looking forward to seeing a Scarlet when it comes out.

Are you talking about a single sound panned both ways? Most sound effects are mono tracks that are panned center which would play out of both speakers. If you want an effect to come out the left side and not the right you could pan it left (example, door slams off camera on that side of the room.
Opt L will break a Stereo pair (note: the triangles will disappear)

Mpeg2 is a delivery codec and would have to be render to something else to work in FCP.
Don’t understand your workflow here, why are you adding a soundtrack to mpeg2 in FCP to begin with. Are you going back to a DVD? Can you give more detail on what you are trying to accomplish.
