Couple of suggestion to clearify.
Try DV50 (DVCPro50) as the codec for video, only 2x with size of DV but you get a lot for that, or the new ProRes if you have FCP6. and it will recompress a lot better. Make sure you are also making the audio aif format and not .dv.

Which is not checked as anamorphic the footage or the timeline?
If anamorphic clips (checked) are placed on a 4:3 timeline you get letterboxed footage. All you need to do is to check anamorphic for the sequence and then select all the clips and do a remove attributes (Disort) and it should be corrected. If you have made any text/graphics with FCP you will probably need to redo them.
If your sequence is anamorphic but the clips where not checked the footage will be pillboxed and squished, just select the clips and do the remove attributes and they should pop into the correct aspect.

Also are you trying to do a segmented encode, (virtual cluster) I have no luck at all when export from FCP, and this is kind or what I see, the WATING thing. Open up Batch Monitor and turn down all the arrows and what do they say.

Yes, sorry I don’t have the camera in front of me. But there is a menu setting that allows for full/partial/no info via the video out. None of this info will ever go out the via FW.
Just run through the menu (think it is the Display one)

Okay, I think with your help I have got the settings right.
SDI Loop is connect IN/OUT to deck-IoHD
Gen10 525i29.97 to both deck and IoHD
Deck set to:
OUT REF – REF (if I set it to Input video the video freaks out!)
PP.EE/PB – is set to PB when ETT (seems like it needs to be on PB.EE for capture or else I’m getting dropped frames)I think it was the PB setting that was causing the problem with the ETT. I’m now getting the beautiful blue ref light back when the ETT goes into recording and in the AJA CP I can see that genlock is using Ref In
Just to confirm – when doing a capture it never comes back on, it that normal.

Not sure who has to collect this new tax. The people ordering outside NY from NY companies? Or just NYers that order from out of state companies. But only seems like the tax is collected if NYers go to the sites via a link on a NY website. Could it be more confusing.
I think it is just the latter “New York Internet shoppers”
I don’t think a state has the right (yet) to collect tax on an item that possession it taken in another state. So I don’t think it effects B&H as much as say Macsales.
My retail store don’t desire our business but I do make a point if I need the benefit of seeing/touching an item I don’t do to a store and then buy it online. I think I owe it to them to purchase it from them. But I also refuse to let brick and mortar place oder stuff and bring it in for me. I can do that myself and save both money and normally time. Just my opinion.

If you bring the clip into compressor you can set an in and out point and it will keep the TC. If you send a clip from FCP or export it as a ref movie it will take on the TC of the seq and not the clip. You can use FCP to mark the in and out if you make the seq TC match the clips.

Bob, totally understand, and I was mostly meaning that the 1st thing I do is to require a client to give me full details of the problem, I do authoring for a replication place and a lot of times the end “client” goes through 3 levels before me. So I get “it has problems” a lot, a good bit of the time it is user errors but I refuse to try to solve a problem before I know exactly what it is.
But yes it is also important that you post as much info as you can also :-).

[Bob Cole] “but it doesn’t play correctly” what exactly is it not doing or doing. I do not accept vague statements like this, this in no way to can troubleshot, “not playing correctly”
WM Player can play DVDs if they download the right codecs and using a modern version (11?). But it is still a MS product and they handle things a little less straight forward. So if a project works in everything else and you have authored a clean DVD there is not much you can do.
It would be great if someone knew of specific things that WMP didn’t handle.
